15 Reasons Why Your Business Should be Podcasting

Podcasting is for bigger businesses. Podcasting is for famous people. Podcasting is for people who don’t work. Podcasts are for geeks. Just pop “why podcasting is a waste of time" into any search engine, and you’ll find... Oh, wait. You won’t find any of those phrases. That’s because podcasting is a proven method for engaging with your customers. iTunes podcast subscriptions eclipsed the 1 billion mark in 2013, and that number continues to grow. Your potential lead base is finding podcasts on every social media network, iTunes, and podcatchers across the web. Customers are consuming podcasts as part of their morning routine, during their daily commute, while exercising, and while getting ready for bed. You should be making a podcast.

So now you argue that “Well there are already a ton of podcasts out there, why waste my time?” This line of thinking is a fallacy. Tools such as Audiosear.ch and Stitcher are free podcast apps that millions of listeners use to look for new podcasts. Of course, there is the legendary iTunes “New and Noteworthy” section, where fresh podcasts are launched to the stars. Can your podcast become successful? Just like any other venture, you get out what you put in.
